About

On holiday as a child I would stay at hotels with my parents. It was there that I first enjoyed the thrill of capturing someone’s identity on paper. I would sit in the drawing room of the hotel and sketch the residents, giving them the finished drawing and see their joy. As such from an early age I experienced the thrill of seeing the enjoyment of others when I had captured their image. Throughout my life working the creative sector I have been lucky to have had this joy repeated again and again.

For me capturing the light in someone’s eyes is to a large extent what portraiture is all about. I work to commission and can provide drawings or paintings in a number of media. A portrait is forever, a permanent reminder of a moment in time in someone’s life.
